Hello 2023, goodbye 2022! 再见2022， 你好2023！

Dear all members of the Chinese Bridge Club

It has been a year since the Chinese Bridge Club was launched in Cape Town on 25 November 2022. Since that launch, we have had a home to meet and connect with. We are glad all members share a passion for the beauty of the Chinese language and culture. Both China and South Africa have long histories and splendid cultures and represent Oriental and African civilisations, respectively. As a Club, when we learn from each other, we are encouraged to appreciate the attractiveness of the language to savour its rich historical and cultural connotation. This will help us better understand the two countries' past, present and future.

Chinese Bridge Club is a platform for all of us. A platform for learning and sharing heightens ambition, broadens mindsets and enables us to be open, inclusive and willing to engage in both countries and become supporters, participants and contributors in China-South Africa cooperation.

We are grateful for all your support and participation throughout 2022. The new year is coming, the year of the Rabbit. The characteristics are: gentle, alert, quick, skilful, responsible, and always faithful to those around them. I hope every one of us has the same character as Rabbit.
